Director of Development
Videographer
WisconsinEye seeks highly motivated professional to manage development activities at nonprofit, privately funded public affairs network. WisconsinEye presents independent statewide view of public policy discussion and civic and cultural activities, beginning with nonpartisan, gavel-to-gavel coverage of state government in Madison. Director of Development will develop and execute various fundraising strategies, including corporate and foundation giving, and develop related strategies for board development and corporate governance. The Director of Development also will assist in managing external marketing and public relations strategies and activities. This position reports to the President.
Responsibilities:
• Develop donor prospects lists
• Identify and cultivate donor relationships
• Research and analyze potential donors and corresponding fundraising strategies
• Develop presentation material related to donor solicitation
• Solicit and assist board members in soliciting donors
• Produce written reports and presentations
• Develop and execute external PR and marketing strategies and plans
• Assist with strategic development of Board of Directors
• Develop a strategy and operational plan for corporate governance
• Report to President
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Experience in corporate and foundation fundraising; nonprofit experience helpful
• Track record of success in grant-writing, major gift fundraising
• Excellent research and analysis skills
• Proven ability to plan, organize, and execute major donor fundraising
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Strong knowledge of Wisconsin corporations, foundations, organizations preferred
• Experience developing and executing external marketing/PR plans helpful
• Experience creating strategies for board development, corporate governance.

Videographer
WisconsinEye seeks highly motivated professional for challenging opportunity at nonprofit multimedia public affairs network. WisconsinEye presents an independent statewide view of community affairs and public policy discussion, beginning with nonpartisan, gavel-to-gavel coverage of state government in Madison and extending to civic activities throughout the state. Videographer shoots field productions in Madison and statewide. Edits programs at WisconsinEye production edit suites in Madison.
Responsibilities:
• Act as Producer/Director/Videographer in the field
• Videotape program material for all-digital high definition production using video camera equipment; make technical and creative decisions regarding such elements as appropriate lighting, shooting angle, placement and type of microphones audio needs, locations, use of movement, and interviews
• Exercise independent judgment in the assembling and editing of videotaped material for broadcast
• Produce full range of broadcast graphics including title sequences, lower thirds, promos and other projects as assigned
• Create DVDs of programs or samples of programs as needed
• Employ production values consistent with WisconsinEye’s mission
• Other duties as assigned by Program Manager
Qualifications:
• Experience in video production and nonlinear editing
• Commitment to independent, nonpartisan coverage of government and politics
• Enthusiasm for WisconsinEye production values
• Demonstrated proficiency with single-camera field production
• Experience with Sony HVR-Z1U, Final Cut Pro a plus
• Proficiency with Photoshop. Experience with Illustrator and After Effects a plus
• Ability to troubleshoot and correct equipment problems quickly under production pressure
• Knowledge of basic broadcasting rules and regulations
• Ability to handle multiple projects and schedules
• Ability to work independently and quickly in high-pressure situations
• Must be highly organized
• Accuracy and attention to detail a must
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
• Creativity, flexibility, comfort in small staff environment
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, other non-traditional hours
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and clean driving record
